The Flow team is celebrating Columbus Day with the community!

Shete Boca Flow 2014 Community Project2 (2)WILLEMSTAD - Columbus Communications Curacao NV, operating under the brand names Flow and Columbus Business Solutions, is celebrating Columbus Day (Oct. 13th 2014) together with the community. They initiated special Columbus Day community projects and there is a staff appreciation day.

On Friday September 29th, the first Columbus Day project was kicked off at Casa Manita (Stichting Jeugdzorg). Casa Manita is the home for 50 girls and boys, which for social and or economic reasons rely on the support from this facility. It provides them with shelter, care, education and safe living conditions. The volunteer group of Columbus (Flow) employees, partners and ambassadors helped out by revamping and cleaning up the premises at Casa Manita. The team provided new lights, donated food for the animal farm, renovated the kitchen and donated clothing and one year of Flow’s Internet Services.

Last week the team helped Stichting Carmabi (Caribbean Research and Management of Biodiversity) which provides facilities and logistical support to visiting researchers and graduate students, manages nine protected areas on Curacao and runs an educational program reaching about 12,000 school children per year. One of the nine protected area’s they manage (Shete Boca) was completely cleaned up by the Flow team.

Casa Manita Flow 2014 Community Project2 (2)Flow has a unique approach to giving back to the community. “In our effort to provide a better future and a sustainable community to live in, we continue to provide materials, voluntary work and assistance through the various relationships we have developed with our partners on the island. We hope to inspire the community to join forces and bring out the best.” According to Lina Nijman, marketing manager at Columbus Curacao. “This year, we have worked on revamping the baseball field for Curacao Baseball City Foundation (CBCF), provided the opportunity for two school groups to visit the Dolphin Academy, had a technology lounge at Kids City and participated in the Endless Summer Sports Festival at St. Joris Bay. Besides that, we also partnered with important foundations and communities on Curacao.”
