The Kingdom celebrates first King’s day

This year King's Day is celebrated on the 26th, since April 27, is the official birthday of the king, which is on a Sunday.

King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima and other members of the royal family will visit Amstelveen and De Rijp for the festivities. These municipalities will use the same program that they have made ​​for the celebration of the Queen’s day on April 30 last year. Last year, the visit of the then Queen Beatrix and her family at Amstelveen and De Rijp was canceled in connection with the succession of Prince Willem-Alexander on the same day.

The Curaçao government has decided to celebrate King’s day on April 30 this year. Nevertheless, tomorrow the traditional flea market will be held at Curacao Beach Boulevard (Mambo). The market will begin at 8 am.
