Willemstad gets certificate World Heritage Cities

1743568_10203782327292654_6697790355865146413_nWILLEMSTAD - Willemstad has received a certificate from the Organization of World Heritage Cities (OWHC). As a member of the organization Curaçao has shown that it is in good standing, according to the OWHC. The Ministry of Traffic, Transport and Urban Planning (VVRP) announced this today in a press release.

“Our city center is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This makes membership to the OWHC possible. The government has taken an active part and has been very involved in the meetings of the OWCH, the Ministry of VVRP said.


There are 250 cities member of the organization. The members regularly exchange information by attending conferences, workshops and seminars. The next conference will take place in 2015 in Arequipa in Peru.
