Anita Debuts as a substitute

WILLEMSTAD – Vurnon Anita has already made his debut for Newcastle United on Saturday evening (English time). The former midfielder replaced Ajacied Yohan Cabaye twenty minutes before the end in the game with Tottenham Hotspur. The home club led 1-0 at that time by a goal from Demba Ba after halftime. The audience welcomed Anita with a warm applause. The Dutch acquisition could not prevent that right after his entrance the Spurs scored and put the game at 1-1. Goalkeeper Tim Krul could not control the header he got by Jermaine Defoe and had no chance in the rebound. Newcastle eventually won 2-1 thanks to Hatem Ben Arfa. The Frenchman utilized a penalty kick after he was tackled by Aaron Lennon  and Rafael van der Vaart.
