Texas Rangers signs with Juremi Profar

WILLEMSTAD - Jurickson Profar of the Texas Rangers made its debut in the American Major League with a home run. But that was not the only big day for the Profar family. The Rangers have also signed a contract with his sixteen year old brother Juremi Profar, reports Baseballamerica.com.

With a height of 183cm and a weight of about 84 kilograms Profar plays on third base. The sixteen year old was also noticed, like his brother, at the Little League World Series. He was a shortstop and pitcher for Curacao in Williamsport in 2008. Here he reached the semifinals, where he hit a homerun and eliminated nine players making it 4 2/3 innings in a 11-4 loss yielded to Japan.

Successes
In one of the previous games, when playing against Italy, Profar hit two homeruns and thus helped his team to the semifinals. In 2007, he played baseball for Curacao in the Little League World Series team that eventually won Curacao the championship. The sixteen year old will probably start his career in the Dominican Summer League.
