The Largest Telecommunications Conference Of The Region Moves To Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD (CTEX) - Curaçao Technology Exchange N.V. (CTEX), announced today that after months of lobbying the region’s largest telecommunications conference will be moving from Jamaica to Curaçao on February 14th and 15th of 2013.

The 7th Annual Capacity Caribbean Conference will be moving to the new, dynamic market of Curaçao for the first time in 2013.  After extensive lobbying and analysis, 74% of Capacity’s customers voted for Capacity Caribbean 2013 to move to Curaçao. The event will be held at the Curaçao Hyatt.

“Capacity Media is proud to announce that Capacity Caribbean 2013 will be moving to Curaçao due to the recent surge in market activity, liberalization and new revenue opportunities for international operators coming from the region,” says Rhian Collinson head of Conferences for Capacity Media located in the United Kingdom.

Following our presentations at the 6th annual Capacity held this year in Jamaica, we felt that Curaçao had a tremendous amount to offer the industry. Furthermore, with the build out of CTEX’s super advanced Tier-IV data center in Curaçao, we are creating the opportunity for Curaçao to become the region’s largest carrier-neutral network access point (NAP) where international carriers can interconnect. For enterprise customers it means the ability to leverage vast new network of international telecommunication highways rather than having to connect in Miami or other interconnection points,” says Anthony de Lima, CTEX’s Chairman & CEO.

In February, CTEX will be hosting together with Capacity Media and various carriers the largest telecommunications event it the region. More than 250 senior-level executives representing both the Caribbean marketplace and over 110 different carriers and service providers will be present in Curaçao, providing the island with an opportunity to showcase itself.
