2012 was a good year for tourism

CTBWILLEMSTAD – Last year was a good year for tourism. In that year, more than 400,000 tourists visited Curacao. An increase of eight percent compared to 2011. In December, 40,000 tourists came to the island, on average, and stayed for nine days. Just as in 2011 was August 2012 the month with most tourists. That was two years due to the Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival. Most of the growth comes from South America, but also more tourists from Europe came for a short vacation. Half of all tourists came for the first time. One in five tourists comes regularly to our island.
