Curaçao Hotel Occupancy Year To Date Analysis
WILLEMSTAD - July 27th, Hotel occupancy figures for the 1st semester of 2015 (Year To Date – June) illustrate a considerable surge, in comparison with 2013 and 2014. Curaçao hotel performance registered a 75% occupancy in the 1stsemester of 2015 which is a 5% increase over last year’s 70%
Curaçao Hotel Occupancy inception in 2015 was quite successful with January occupancy coming in at a considerable 80% rate, serving the hotels an occupancy that was 7% higher than January 2014’s 73%, and 11% higher than January 2013’s 69% Hotel occupancy, signifying a considerable surge in two years. February, being the only month to date to have surpassed January’s 80% occupancy rate, came in at an unprecedented 83% occupancy, also marginally surpassing 2014 by 4% and 2013 by 7%. March Hotel occupancy was recorded at 73% thus showing a slight increase over 2014 with 1%, while compared to 2013, 2015 occupancy has decreased by 3%. Signifying that Quarter 1 of 2015 mostly retains the trend of annual growth.

Quarter 2 of 2015 commences with 73% Hotel Occupancy in April that came in lower than 2014 by 3%, with similar occupancy figures in the same month of 2013. The annual shoulder months for hotels, outlined by May, show a lower occupancy compared to quarter 1, yet compared to May 2014, 2015 occupancy shows an increase of 1%.

Generally, the 2015 ADR has grown slightly when compared to 2014, the 2015 Year To Date ADR increasing 3% compared to 2014 illustrates this. RevPAR, similar to ADR, shows a steady increase in 2015 compared to 2014 with an increase in all 6 months of this semester. The 2015 increase is 6% compared to 2014.
