Avila Hotel receives Gold Travelife status

Avila HotelWILLEMSTAD – Avila Hotel can proudly say that since this week they are in possession of a golden' Travelife status. This recognition is for sustainability in tourism.

Avila, the oldest operating hotel in Curacao, received this award because of “the good care within its environment. Both within the community and the environment. The Avila staff delivers monthly a small contribution to the nearby Orange School, recycled paper, automatically switches off the air conditioning when not needed and collects food scraps from the kitchen.”

Travelife is an international certification scheme for hotels and accommodations that helps impact their environmental and social effects, such as the management of energy or water, the treatment of the people they employ and the improvement of the local community in which they operate. "The hotel is very proud of this international award." Besides Morena Eco Resort, Avila has now this 'green' status.
