WILLEMSTAD - Shurrendall Cijntje is the first participant who registered himself as a Junior Chef for CHATA’s Curaçao Culinary Competitions 2016. Shurrendall Cijntje is 19 years old and a student at Maris Stella SBO, whenever he is not studying he works his culinary art at Saint Tropez Ocean Club.
Coming from a culinary background, Shurrendall got his motivation for the culinary world, because of his uncle, who inspired him to be more than just good.
“When the dish you’ve prepared gives the guests the ‘wow’ effect when they taste it, it’s like they are brought into a culinary world and that’s all because of your dish, is what motivates Shurrendall every time. This is also why I registered myself for the Curaçao Culinary Competition, because I want to better myself and become an even better ‘Yu di Kòrsou’ by giving it my all.” Says Shurrendall Cijntje.
The Curaçao Culinary Competition was already a great success for a friend of him; this person became his role model and driving force to participate in this year’s Curaçao Culinary Competition.
“It would be a great honor for me to become Curaçao’s Junior Chef of the year 2016. I’m practicing allot so I can accomplish this achievement.” says Shurrendall.
