Brazilian soap opera filmed in Curacao

Hugo&MilesPressConference310314(L)WILLEMSTAD- The Curacao Tourism Bureau (CTB) informed, during a press conference, that a Brazilian soap opera will be filmed right here in Curacao. Filming will start on March 31 till April 9. It is important to know that some streets will be closed during the filming.

The Brazilian TV channel, Rede Record will be in Curacao to do the filming. It’s the second largest TV channel in Brazil. The soap opera will be viewed by about 59 million people in the South American country and also by more than 200 million in 150 countries where this show is broadcasted. Title of the soap opera is “Vitoria”.

The beginning of the soap opera will concentrate on images filmed in Curacao. The various episodes will show parts of Curacao and Brazil. Broadcasting will start in May. The soap opera will be on TV for eight months. This means that Curacao will be seen by millions for a long period of time. CTB will also have the opportunity to do some promotions on the channel’s website, which is viewed by approximately 29 million people per month.

The filming will take place in the areas of Otrobanda, Punda, Curaçao Sea Aquarium, various beaches e.g. Knip, Santa Barbara Plantation and also on Queen Emma Bridge. CTB hopes that everyone will cooperate, especially when the above mentioned areas are closed for filming.
