Carnival Horizon for the first time in Curaçao

New HorizonWILLEMSTAD - Last week the cruise vessel “Carnival Horizon” of Carnival Cruise Line paid her inaugural visit to Curaçao. During the inaugural call the captain of the vessel and his crew received the ports authority, customs, agents and local officials to celebrate this inaugural visit to Curaçao during a short ceremonial reception.

As is customary the ceremony included an exchange of maritime plaques between Captain De New Horizon1Angelis and the Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Steven Martina, in the presence of the President of the Board of Supervisory Directors of Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA), Mr. Irving Moeniralam, representatives of CPA, the Harbor Master, the Customs Department, the agent Maduro Shipping and the crew.

Carnival Horizon, which is related to Carnival Vista in the category of the Vista class, is the newest vessel of Carnival Cruise Line and has a capacity of 3.936 cruise passengers. The vessel measures 322 meter in length and weighs approximately 133,500 gross ton (GRT). Last week Saturday the vessel left Miami for a trip of 8 nights with stops at Grand Turk, La Romana, Curaçao and Aruba and will then return to Miami.
