CHATA: “Hotel occupancy in April down 3 percent”
WILLEMSTAD – According to data published by the Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association (CHATA), the average occupancy rate of hotels on the island was 70.5 percent in April this year.
In the same period last year a hotel occupancy of 73.5 percent was recorded, resulting in a drop of 3 percent.
CHATA stressed that this is provisional data for the time being, which has been gathered by sampling fourteen different hotel establishments representing a total of 2336 rooms.
Last April, the Average Daily Rate (ADR) was 141.42 dollars. In the same month a year earlier this was 146.82 dollars, resulting in a decrease of 5.4 dollar in revenue.
The Revenue per Available Room in April was 99.77 dollars, which is 8.18 dollars less compared to the same month a year earlier.
