CHATA informs its members about the latest developments
WILLEMSTAD – The CEO of the Curaçao Hotel and Tourism Association (CHATA), Lizanne Dindial recently sent a letter to the all the members and partners of the association. In the letter, the CEO indicates that it is important to inform them of the latest developments within the association. “During the last few weeks, several hotel owners and or properties shared their concerns and challenges with the CHATA Board & Staff,” said Dindial in her letter.
“The fact is that not all hotel owners and or properties who are part of the association are pleased with the current results achieved as an association and tourism destination. On the other hand, it is evident that we are encountering some rough times and not only in traditional hotel performance but also in the general economic development of the island.”
The CEO states that she sees this as a wake-up call and a moment for the team of individual hotels to come back together to build upon the ideas and beliefs that brought them together since 1967.
“The current CHATA Board is aware of the importance of having one solid hotel association representing the private sector and therefore decided to organize an official CHATA Board retreat which will take place next week Tuesday, November 8th, 2016 where all board members will share their position and ideas on how to move forward.”
CHATA believes that is has a right to existence and the current structures will be re-evaluated to better fit the needs and want of today's business world.
“At the end of the day, we believe in transparency, communication and working together as private entities with individual interests but with a general interest to grow the tourism industry.”
In closing, the CEO said that the members can rest assured that they will be updated in the next few weeks on the agreements and position of the current CHATA Board moving forward.
