CTB launches youth awareness campaign: Dushi Hende t’ Ami; Mi ta ON!’

LaunchingDH-1(H)WILLEMSTAD – CTB recently launched a new awareness campaign called “Dushi Hende t’ Ami; Mi ta ON!” The awareness campaign is focused on the Curaçao youth between the ages of 12 and 19. CTB presented the campaign to special guests and members of the press during a festive event. This awareness campaign is financed by Reda Sosial, with funds from the Government of Curaçao. The CTB contributes financially towards the execution of this project and is together with Fundashon Nos Kousa (FNK) responsible for the project implementation. Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Eugene Rhuggenaath and the Minister in charge of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Mrs. Irene Dick together with some local teenagers did the official kick-off of “Dushi Hende t’ Ami; Mi ta ON!”

The logo of the campaign, a colorful heart represents ‘Dushi Hende’ (beautiful/nice people) with the slogan ‘t’ Ami; Dushi Hende tAmi [1x1]8Mi ta ON!’ (is me, I’m it!). The slogan stands for a teenager representing the 6 values of a ‘Dushi Hende’, which is a teenager that is service oriented, has integrity, shows hospitality, is responsible, honest and proud to express that he or she is a ‘Dushi Hende’ wherever they may go. This awareness campaign is dedicated to increase the level of consciousness among teenagers about the values of our tourism, to promote the education related to tourism and to inspire the teenagers to choose for a future in the tourism and hospitality sector.

The campaign consists of 6 projects designed to increase the level of understanding among the target group. The first two, which will start soon, is a photo contest which will be done on social media with tourism as main focus. The project starts on June 13th until July 11th, 2016. The youngsters can either participate individual or in a group, taking a picture expressing what according to them tourism is all about. As part of the project, there will be a raffle and awesome prizes. The second project, a tourism conference will take place on June 25th and is dedicated to all scouting groups. As a preparation, participating scouting groups will attend 4 weeks of info-sessions prior to attending the conference. The conference will cover different topics like; economy and working in the tourism sector.

More projects will follow in the upcoming months. For more information related to this campaign, please visit the CTB facebook page ‘Dushi Hende’, let’s keep spreading the message: ‘Dushi Hende t’ Ami; Mi ta ON!’
