Curaçao at the Holiday Fair 2016

Vakantiebeurs-3(L)WILLEMSTAD - The Holiday Fair 2016 in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht this year attracted over 121,000 visitors (in 2015 there were 117 000 visitors) who drew inspiration for their next holiday. The Curaçao stand in Hall 4 last week was a real crowd pleaser!

Trade day

The Trade Day on Tuesday was busier than ever, it was visited by over 16,000 visitors. On this Tuesday afternoon there was a drinks party for the media and relations at the Curaçao stand. Hugo Clarinda (CTB) and Edward Suares (CTB) provided a warm welcome to the stand.

Big public

On Wednesday, January 13th the Holiday Fair started for the general public. Visitors were able to go to the Curaçao stand for information about the island and the different accommodations. Besides CTB, the stand was manned by partners CHATA, Scuba Lodge, Amalia Boutique Hotel & Vacation Apartments, Dolphin Academy, Lions Dive & Beach Resort, Livingstone Jan Thiel Resort, Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort, Avila Beach Hotel, Kontiki Beach Resort, Hilton Curacao, Sunscape Curacao, Papagayo Beach Hotel, Acoya Curaçao, Boutique Hotel 't Klooster and Dolphin Suites. Travel sales were also carried out in the stand by independent travel consultants of Travel Counselors & Holland International Travel @ Home.

Consumer Action #dushidip

In collaboration with the partners, visitors were also able to win an all-expenses trip to Curaçao and stay in one of the participating accommodations. For this, they had to join the #dushidip. The visitors had to put their hand in a large aquarium and guess what the sea temperature was. Of course, this water temperature was approximately equal to the real sea around Curaçao.

Culinary route

Curaçao was also part of the culinary route in the Holiday Fair. Hundreds of people have become acquainted with Curaçao’s delicious Keshi Yena from Bon Bini Snek. They were happy to stand in line for a bite of that delicious treat.
