Curacao is ready for Taste of the Caribbean

tasteWILLEMSTAD - A culinary team from Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association (CHATA) and Curacao Chef and Culinary Training Foundation will once again participate in Taste of the Caribbean. During this annual cooking competition, competitors will battle for the title of Caribbean Culinary Team of the Year.

The taste of the Caribbean takes place at the Hyatt Hotel in Miami and lasts from June 28 to July 2.


In recent months, a fierce battle took place between culinary professionals to get a spot within the national team. The Curaçao team consists of: Senior Chef Siegfried Alexander (Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort), Runner-up Senior Chief Gevgeny Hasselmeijr (Restaurant Gouverneur), Pastry Chef Carlos Anthonij (Curacao Marriott Beach Resort & Emerald Casino), Junior chef Aisheron Philips (Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort), Runner-up Junior chef Ashohary Juliana (student Maris Stella SBO) and bartender Chin Ping Li ( Sunscape Curacao Resort , Spa & Casino).


To raise money for travel expenses and other incidentals, the team will organize several fundraising events. On April 7, April 21, May 19, June 2 and June 16 there will be cookouts organized.
