Curaçao Retains Top Tier Marketing Counsel in Brazil

WILLEMSTAD - Dutch Caribbean Business reports that the Curaçao’s tourism sector is taking a very serious closer look at the Brazilian tourism market. The island’s tourism authorities recently hired Meridian – a tourism segment marketing agency and Hill + Knolwton Strategies Brazil, to take care of its strategic plan for Brazil.

Curaçao welcomed 9,500 Brazilian visitors in 2012, an increase of five thousand visitors over the past two years. The aim is to reach the milestone of 12 thousand visitors in 2013. To achieve this, those in charge of Curaçao as a tourist destination want to increase the name brand recognition and the level of knowledge about Curaçao of the potential Brazilian tourist.

In addition the island’s tourism industry is looking to improve the relationship with stakeholders in the Brazilian tourism trade.

The Meridian - led by advertising specialist Marcos Tadeu Siqueira - has ten years of experience in project marketing and campaigns. Mr. Tadeu Siqueira’s team will take care of tourism and destination marketing.

Currently the tourism affairs of Curacao in Brazil are represented by Projeto PA of Paulo Assumpção. Mr. Paulo Assumpção has over 35 years of solid commercial experience with national and multinational companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Klabin, Waxes Johnson, Kimberly Clark, Mattel, Fox Films. He is currently a managing partner of Projeto PA, an agency of products and converging tourist destinations. Projeto PA  is active in Brazailian and international markets.
