Curaçao to host ‘CTO State of the Industry Conference 2015’

WILLEMSTAD - October 8, 2015 – From October 21 – October 23 Curaçao will host the ‘CTO State of the Industry Conference 2015’ (SOTIC). The annual State of the Industry Conference (SOTIC) is the pre-eminent tourism gathering in the region. It brings together Caribbean tourism practitioners, policymakers, strategic partners from the public and private sectors, academics and travel professionals at the highest levels, who discuss issues, identify solutions and generally develop courses of action that will benefit the tourism industry in the Caribbean. Speakers of international and regional acclaim provide best case practices and winning strategies on a wide range of topics that are critical to the growth of Caribbean tourism, all with a view toward the development of a sustainable tourism industry that will position the Caribbean as the most desirable, year-round warm weather destination. Under this year’s theme “Caribbean Tourism: Growth Through Innovation”, the Conference will provide delegates with information on the current trends that drive tourism, innovative ideas, strategies and products that can be introduced and how to revolutionize the product to increase returns on their investments.
Keynoting the CTO’s State of the Industry Conference is a high honor that this year belongs to Mr. Robin Haynes, Chief Executive Officer of JetBlue. In setting the tone for the conference Mr. Haynes will address some of the issues influencing the future of the tourism industry. This year’s conference includes several plenary sessions and interactive workshops. On October 21st the conference will start with an opening ceremony and welcome reception for all delegates. Some of the topics that will be addressed on October 22nd and October 23rdwillbe: Visioning the future –Tourism 2025, Get Personal – Engagement Marketing For Better Business, Facilitation: At Your Service – Making Travel Easier, The Age of Innovation – Increasing ROI, Business Opportunities: Teach Me to Niche, Marketing to the Generations and Creative Tourism. The conference also includes a Tourism Youth Congress. Youth from several CTO member countries make their contributions to the discussions at a Youth Congress, one of the various vehicles through which CTO encourages the best and brightest to consider tourism as a career. As you may already know Curaçao will be represented by Johannah Rosaria who recently won the Golden Voice Competition. The Golden Voice Competition was organized by the CTB with the purpose to select a representative for Curaçao.
