Curaçao wants three times more tourists from Suriname

CTB-toerismWILLEMSTAD - Near the Jules Wijdenbosch Bridge in Suriname, on the east side of it, there is a billboard with the text "EXPERIENCE ITSELF". The billboard should encourage Surinamese people to go on holiday to Curaçao. The initiative comes from the Curaçao Tourism Board (CTB).

The aim is to increase the flow of tourists from Suriname to Curaçao in the short term by a factor of 3. The blue color on the billboard represents the sea and the sky while the other colors indicate the 'otherness of Curaçao' compared to the other islands in the Caribbean Sea.

The launch of this project came about after thorough and intensive research of more than two years in Europe, the United States of America and South America.

In preparation is also a model to sell one ticket in the future with two destinations where Curaçao as a land of sand, sea and sun and Suriname as tropical rainforest will be promoted.
