Dunn&Co. named agency of record for Caribbean island Curaçao

Tampa Bay Business Journal reports that Tampa advertising agency Dunn&Co. is now agency of record for the Caribbean island of Curaçao.

The inking of the contract in September followed a selection process that began last year.

Curaçao provided Dunn&Co. with background about the destination and asked the agency to devise a communications plan to elevate awareness.

“To an island like Curaçao, the visitor is well traveled and seasoned,” said Dunn&Co. President Troy Dunn. “They are cultural explorers, that is how we define the audience. People looking for new types of discovery.”

Under terms of the contract, Dunn&Co. will create communications for use in North America, South America and Europe.

Dunn&Co. intends to create a “broad branding toolset” with traditional and digital components that will be customizable for different parts of the world.

Tourists from one region may visit the Caribbean to dive and explore new reefs, whereas tourists from another region may be inclined to want to relax and enjoy the island lifestyle, Dunn said.

The contract draws upon Dunn&Co.’s background as agency of record for five years for the Caribbean island of Bonaire.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Curaçao received recent attention as the filming location for the ninth season of ABC reality show “The Bachelorette.”
