KLM Curacao Marathon: November 27
WILLEMSTAD - The successful KLM Curacao Marathon will be repeated again this year. The event will be held on Sunday, November 27th, participants can register starting today.
Last year, 3,000 athletes from as many as 32 countries ran over the Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge during the second KLM Curaçao Marathon. Among them were 37 Dutch travel agents who went for the challenge of 5, 10 or 21 kilometers or they provided the required encouragement along the famous Handelskade of Willemstad or the 56-meter Queen Juliana Bridge.
Edward Suares (director of Curaçao Tourist Board Europe) said at the time: "It is important to work with valued partners such as KLM and RIS to work on organizing international events and at the same time FAM trips so that travel agents see that there is always something going on in Curaçao island and keep their knowledge up to date.”
“It is extremely important for KLM to have travel consultants experience destinations, experience that finally sells better. KLM and Curaçao have a historical connection, as we have been flying to this destination for already 81 years and is an important destination for us,” said Toon Balm, Vice President Sales and Services KLM Netherlands.
