More stay over tourism in May

curmc_home01WILLEMSTAD – According to the Curacao Tourism Board (CTB), there were about 8 percent more stay over tourism on the island in May this year compared to the same month last year. This is according to the provisional figures. The CTB says that the reason for the increase is the international promotion the organization is doing.

Compared to a small growth in stay over tourism from the whole North America, and a major increase in the tourism originating from South America, there is a decline in the European visitors to the island. This is a five percent decrease. Especially the Dutch came less to the island, about 9 percent. In total, 10.000 compared to 11.000 in May of last year.
