Mr. and Mrs Stone more than 50 years visiting Curaçao
WILLEMSTAD – Mr. and Mrs. Stone have been visiting Curaçao since 1966, which makes it 50 years coming to the island faithfully every year. This is of course reason for the Curaçao Tourist Board to give this couple a recognition. For this occasion the Minister of Economic Development, who is also in charge of tourism, Eugene Rhuggenaath received this family and held a conversation with them.
The Stones live in the U.S. and told us that in 1966 they visited Curaçao for this first time when a friend invited them. They visit the island at least once a year. For them Curaçao is a paradise, the best of the ABC islands and the most beautiful place on earth. What they like the most is when they are diving. They’ve done this already 800 times.
The couple has introduced Curaçao to many of the family and friends. Their children also love the island. It’s four generations now that come on vacation here. Even her grandchildren love Curaçao. The only thing they lament is not having learned papiamento, but they can still do that.
The couple received a gift from the Minister, who was enchanted with them.
