Room occupancy declined in August

WillemstadWILLEMSTAD – The occupancy rate of hotels in Curacao declined by 4.5 percent in August compared to August 2012. This is according to a report from the Curacao Hospitality & Tourism Association (CHATA). The occupancy rate was 72.2 percent in August 2012, this year the percentage dropped to 67.7 percent.

The average rate for a hotel room dropped from $ 143.67 in August 2012 to $ 139.98 in August this year. The average revenue per room is drastically reduced from $ 103.68 to $ 98.41. For more data regarding the tourism sector on Curaçao you visit the site.
