Telly Award for CTB promotion-dvd

WILLEMSTAD The promotion-dvd of the island from the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) recently received international recognition with a Telly Award. The annual Telly Award presentation was organized for the 33rdtime and received over 12,000 entries from film and video productions, pioneering TV-commercials and programs from the fifty states of the US and from five different continents.

The Telly Awards are presented to promote the audiovisual art, to inspire and support creativity. ‘The Curaçao Difference’, produced by Travelview International, consists of eight short films, each with a different theme: Beaches & Diving; Willemstad Wow! (Willemstad on the UNESCO World Heritage List); History of Curaçao; Outdoors; Attractions; Places to stay, and Festivals and Events. The island is exposed in the series with attractive, fading one image into the other, offering viewers much background information on aforementioned themes. This production emphasizes on the scenic beauty of Curaçao, the culture and the tourist attractions of the island that are eventually to tempt tourists to visit the island. The fast editing doesn’t give viewers much change to become bored. The series are available with ‘voice overs’ in several languages, including Dutch, English, German and Spanish. The CTB presents the dvd to business relations and tourists. CTB-director Ghatim Kabbara, who received the Telly Award from producer Darell Turner, was overjoyed. “We accept this award with pride and are very delighted that this production led to more international publicity for the island.”  The series can be seen on YouTube via the ‘Curaçao Tourist Board Channel.
