The Netherlands main tourist market for Curaçao
WILLEMSTAD – The Netherlands is still the main tourist market for Curaçao. This appears according to figures that Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) presented this week.
There were from 2011 to 2015 more than 700,000 Dutch tourists that visited the island. They stayed last year on average eleven nights and spent a total of 146 million guilders.
The top three most important tourist markets is completed with Venezuela number two and number three the United States. The number of Venezuelan visitors has decreased over the years. Americans spend a day a lot more if they are on holiday compared to Dutch.
It is remarkable that almost all Americans choose to stay at one of the big hotels on the island.
