This is how our visitors described Willemstad in the Edmonton Journal

curacao-willemstadWILLEMSTAD – What a delight for us to read such a great description of our town, Willemstad in the Canadian website Edmonton Journal.

Two neophyte cruisers discovered on their trip from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Vancouver via Panama Canal, that connecting the exotic dots on the map meant filling their senses and not their bellies. According to them it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg to take a cruise these days.

Their description of Willemstad was; “Picture a town which is a cross between an ornate, ornamental Christmas village and Main Street in Disneyland nestled along a Dutch Canal; and that was Willemstad. Our tour guide Consuelo sang us a blessing as we passed the Queen Emma pontoon Bridge overlooking the floating market, courtesy of Venezuelan boats which sell fresh fish and fruit. And of course we sampled the ubiquitous liquor, Curaçao.”

Well, wherever you are from, make sure you plan to visit Curacao and its historic downtown Willemstad.
