What’s happening in Curacao

KLMfunThe Caribbean island of Curaçao will be having several festivals and special events taking place in the next couple of months.

Here’s a list:

Amstel Curaçao Race

The 13th annual Amstel Curaçao Race will take place on Saturday, November 8th.  The race, which traditionally marks the end of the professional cycling season, begins and ends at Lions Dive & Beach Resort.  The race is currently open for registration and bike permits are not required to participate. KLM Curaçao Marathon

On November 30, 2014, the island will host the inaugural KLM Curaçao Marathon in Willemstad.  The event includes both a marathon and half marathon, and takes runners along Curaçao’s stunning waterfront, across the famous Queen Emma pontoon bridge, as well as over one of the highest bridges in the world, the Juliana Bridge, at 185 feet above sea level! Open to people of all ages and fitness levels, participants can also enjoy the pre-race “pasta party” the evening before, featuring cuisine from Michelin-awarded chef and marathon runner, Pascal Jalhay. Xcapefest Curaçao

Taking place December 13, 2014, Xcapefest Curaçao is one of the highlights of the year.     The annual festival features two signature events, a “Celebrity Beach Bash” and a “Hollywood Comedy Night,” which bring together international and locally renowned comedians, performers, and DJs to the island for two days of laughs, dancing, and celebrations. ParadiseWorld Music Festival

As one of the most popular electronic music festivals in the region, ParadiseWorld Music Festival will take place this year on December 17–21, 2014.  This year’s event will be headlined by American DJ, Diplo, among other renowned international acts.  Past acts have included performances by Skrillex and Major Lazer.
