Aruba Airlines began operations to Maracaibo

JA Aruba-AirlinesORANJESTAD – The Aruba airline launched last Thursday its shuttle to Maracaibo, Venezuela and was received with the traditional water salute.

The modern Airbus A320 landed at 5: 18 pm at La Chinita International Airport (MAR). On landing, it was blessed by the priest Ovid Duarte, of the Church Father Claret of the Zulia's capital, and the team of firefighters who symbolically sprayed the aircraft with water.

Wiston Rochard, Aruba Airlines general manager, said that with this new flight they are seeking to approach the market with low rates and accessability for the Zulian people. He also noted that the company has the latest generation of aircrafts with their respective classes and services.

For his part, Jesus Javier Arias, Venezuela's consul in the Aruban territory, highlighted the importance of integration between the company and the Venezuelan state to provide new opportunities and to generate tourism in both nations. With the application of direct flights to Aruba, they hope to increase the number of visitors to and from both countries, but from a more inclusive perspective highlighting affordable rates.
