Cornerstone ceremony for two new hotels in the first week of September

MartinaWILLEMSTAD - The construction of hotels or new rooms mean job creation immediately. First in the construction sector. And when the hotel is finished, there will be more jobs in the hospitality sector. This is according to the Minister of Economic Development, Steven Martina.

According to Martina, the government can eliminate the red tape and create a red carpet which will ensure the construction of more hotels on the island. The Minister explained that the government did just that and now two hotels will be constructed. “In the first week of September, we will lay the cornerstone symbolically. The first hotel will be the Marichi Hotel. The other hotel will be the Lagun Hill at Jan Thiel, which is a project that received all its necessary documents in about two months and a half,” said the Minister.

The Minister also indicated that these projects were realized in cooperation with the Minister of Traffic, Transportation and Urban Planning, Zita Jesus-Leito. “We identified these projects, we did our job and now in a symbolic way, the construction can start.”
