Very successful business meetings between Brazil and Curacao

Meetings with potential investors and representatives of the Brazilian government a success for LAMPA 2013

LAMPA MAtchmaking September 13,2013WILLEMSTAD - On September 12, Curaçao hosted the 2013 LAMPA (Latin American Marketing Personality Awards) event which was held at Sta. Barbara Resort. This event, which consisted of a large delegation of top-level Brazilian participants, presented awards to Mrs. Helena Trajano of Magazine Luiza with more than 730 stores in Brazil and more than 23,000 employees, Mrs. Chieko Aoki of Blue Tree Hotels with more than 4,600 rooms in 18 cities in Brazil and the highest award to Mr. José Roberto Maluf, President of magazines such as America Economía, Rolling Stone, and Caras Brazil.

The choice to organize this event in Curaçao was a concrete result of the visits 2_LAMPA Award 2013_Jose Roberto Malufinitiated by the public and private sector to introduce Curaçao and thus to give content to the commercial ties of the two countries. Besides the Brazilian and other Latin American figures, several local personalities were honored by the organizations LAMPA and Global Council of Sales & Marketing (GCSM): Minister of Economic Development Mr. 1_LAMPA Award 2013_Chieko AokiStanley Palm, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Willem (Billy) Jonckheer, Chairman of the CTDF Mr. Tarzeno Cirkens, Director of Ctex Mr. Anthony de Lima, Director of CTB Mr. Hugo Clarinda and Mr. Steven Martina for his role as a former Minister of Economic Development.

Business exchange Brazil-Curacao

On Friday, September 13th the delegation of nominees and top entrepreneurs had the opportunity to interact with local entrepreneurs who are interested in doing business between Brazil and Curaçao during matchmaking and networking session in the Auditorium of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

3_LAMPA Award 2013_Luiza Helena TrajanoDuring this event, the Ministers Stanley Palm (Economic Development) and Jose Jardim (Finance) spoke to those present. The participants of the event considered these business exchanges as very positive.  A number of important agreements have been made, including some letters of intent that were signed to facilitate the initiation of commercial activities between Brazil and Curacao.

These events were realized through the constant efforts of Curaçao in the Brazilian market in recent years. “By expanding our contacts and close cooperation with various stakeholders, we increase the chances of Curaçao in the Brazilian market,” according to the Chamber of Commerce.

Partners and relatives of the entrepreneurs were invited to several tours and shopping opportunities at various locations on Curacao.

Finally, a large part of the group decided to stay until Sunday - and some Wednesday to rest and explore Curacao.
