Adele van der Pluijm-Vrede and Barney Ivanovic in court

Court houseWILLEMSTAD – Acting Governor Adele van der Pluijm-Vrede was heard as a witness by the court of first instance in Curacao on August 20 of this year. This is according to a report of the Common Court of Justice. Van der Pluijm-Vrede is heard as a notary in the civil case between Oceanside Management NV and South Sky NV. Oceanside Management, owned by the former owner of the Plaza Hotel Barney Ivanovic, brought her as a witness.

The court stressed that she was called in her role as a notary and not that of Acting Governor. The case will continue on September 24.

The lawyer representing Mr. Ivanovic was not prepared to ask questions to Mrs. Van der Pluijm-Vrede since he was just recently assigned to the case. Nonetheless he did ask the questions requested by Mr. Ivanovic.
