Assessment for politically sensitive complaints

WILLEMSTAD - The Public Prosecutor of Curaçao following the politically sensitive complaints of the last time has appointed a "politically sensitive complaint assessments committee " consisting of members of the Office Attorney General, the Prosecutor and the Investigative Officers of Curacao.

This committee has a developed testing framework and an assessment matrix by including applicable law. The committee examines the complaints and gives advice to the leadership of the Office of Attorney General whether further investigation is needed and the desirability of (further) prosecution.

Through the leadership of the Office of Attorney General is on the basis of this opinion a decision taken on further processing of the declaration, (further) investigation and any prosecution. This decision shall be communicated in writing with reasons to the declarants. Regarding complaints that the prosecution will not prosecute, declarants can start a complaint of procedure (Article 15 of the Code of Criminal Procedure) at the Court of Justice.
