CAP adheres to ruling

Car rentalsWILLEMSTAD – Curacao Airport Partners (CAP), will abide by the verdict handed down by the judge in the case of car rentals. The car rentals got free access to the Hato Airport through a lawsuit.

CAP drew the short straw from the lawsuit and individual car rental companies will be able to provide the service of pick up or drop off their customers. They will have unhindered access to the Hato site. CAP’s legal councilor, Karina Keizer, declared in the media that CAP will provide the car rentals free access to the airport.

Recently these companies have received a letter from CAP stating that they are no longer allowed to pick up clients at the airport, otherwise they would risk a fine of 100 guilders each time they offer this service. The companies then proceeded to file a lawsuit against CAP.

CAP has three weeks to appeal. Mrs. Keizer does not know yet whether that will happen, but do not rule it out. Several medias reported that CAP would not appeal the court’s ruling.
