Case Wernet against the Government today

WernetWILLEMSTAD - The lawsuit, which the Chief of Police, Marlon Wernet has filed against the country will take place today.

Wernet was sent home on a mandatory leave since September 2013 by the Minister of Justice, Nelson Navarro. This happened after the mains suspect in the case Wiels, Luigi Florentina, aka Pretu, committed suicide in his cell in Barber.

According to Navarro, Wernet had failed as head of the police force. The suspension of the Chief of Police was made permanent in December last year. This was announced to Wernet by the Minister.

Because of the lawsuit, Wernet hopes to overturn the suspension decision and return to work.

In the meantime Rudsel Martina, the head of the management team of police, is waving the scepter as interim police chief.
