Court seizes 72.5 million guilders from Dos Santos
WILLEMSTAD - The Court of First Instance ruled today in the so-called Bientu case. The suspect, Robbie dos Santos, owner of Robbie’s Lottery, was acquitted of falsifying lottery tickets. He was sentenced for possession of a firearm, money laundering, making false tax return, forgery, and participation in a criminal organization.
For this requires Dos Santos was sentenced to two years in prison conditionally. Furthermore an amount of 72.5 million guilders will be confiscated. Three of Dos Santos’ companies were also in court to hear their sentences. In the cases of those companies all the facts were declared proven, namely making false tax returns, forgery and participation in a criminal organization. The companies were ordered to pay fines of 25,000 guilders for Jamarooma, 50,000 guilders for Money Game and 50.000 guilders for Administratie Kantoor N.V.
