Extension of 8 days for Schotte confirmed by Magistrate

judge-hammer1-courtWILLEMSTAD – Former Prime Minister of Curacao, Gerrit Schotte’s detention was extended with eight more days pending investigation and interrogation. On May 20, the investigation team arrested Schotte (39) and his partner Cicely van der Dijs (36) for suspicion of forgery and money laundering.

On May 25, the magistrate ruled that Schotte’s arrest was not unlawful and that in the interest of the case, he should stay behind bars for at least eight more days.
