Former policeman is afraid of disturbances at Pietermaai demonstration
WILLEMSTAD - The closed alleys in Pietermaai remain a point of discussion. Next Sunday a demonstration will be organized to argue for the removal of the fence between the alleys.
Former policeman and concerned citizen Ronchi Marlin gave a radio interview because he is worried about the demonstration.
Although Marlin supports the right to protest, he is afraid of a confrontation between residents, especially the European Dutch and demonstrators. As a former policeman, he calls on the authorities to take precautionary measures.
Marlin also thinks that the Minister of Public Works Zita Jesus-Leito fails by not clarifying if what the Pietermaai residents are doing is legal or take measures.
