Fourth suspect in Wiels’ murder case

judge-hammer1-courtWILLEMSTAD - The judge determined today that the 36-year-old E.R.K., who is a suspect in the murder of R.J.N. 'Conception' in January, should stay longer in custody. E.R.K. was arrested on September 13 of this year. This is according to a press release from the Public Prosecutor (OM). Upon request from the OM, the magistrate ordered the detention of the suspect E.R.K. in connection with his involvement in the murder of the politician Helmin Wiels.

The authorities had, shortly after the Wiels’ assassination, evidence that E.R.K. was involved in the murder. At that time they did not have enough evidence to arrest him. There was enough evidence to arrest him for the murder of Conception. The investigation into the murder of Wiels is now in such a stage that in addition to the three who were arrested last Friday, E.R.K. was also arrested bring the total of suspects to four.
