Increase in criminal cases in 2017

WILLEMSTAD - Again there is a slight increase in the number of criminal cases brought before the court by the Public Prosecution in Curaçao. From 1283 in 2016 to 1306 in 2017. This is stated in the Public Prosecution Office's annual report for 2017.

Striking: more minors came into contact with the Ministry of Justice. 482 complaints were filed for assaults. There were registered by the Curaçao Police (KPC). That is a decrease compared to 2016 when 516 violent assaults took place.
