Police: ‘Assistance Dutch military has nothing to do with terrorism’

Curacao policeWILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao police denies that military assistance on New Year's Eve would have had anything to do with terrorism. Various media reported that there was a terrorist threat. According to the Corps no, there were measures of precaution.

The police did not explain why there was military assistance and what it was associated with. The police spokesman did not want to comment any further on the issue.

The police station in Barber, which had military surveillance on New Year’s Eve, is where Dangelo D. is locked up. He is one of the suspects accused in the murder of the late politician Helmin Wiels. Another suspect, Luigi Florentina alias Pretu, hanged himself in the same police station.
