Police hand out 180 fines over Easter weekend

police checkpointsWILLEMSTAD - 180 motorists have been fined over the Easter weekend. A total of 580 vehicles were inspected. The traffic controls took place in Bandabou and in the vicinity of the Caracasbaaiweg. In most cases, the drivers were not in possession of a (valid) license.

Too many fines were handed out for driving without a seatbelt. There was also an arrest made. A Jamaican man was not able to identify himself or show his permit. He was handed over to the immigration authorities and deported.
