20,000 Venezuelans affected for purchasing tickets with DAE

DAECARACAS, WILLEMSTAD - The president of the National Alliance of Users and Consumers (Anauco), Roberto Leon Parilli reported that around 20 000 Venezuelans were affected by a judicial suspension and the bankruptcy of the Curacao airline Dutch Antilles Express (DAE).

He said that between 20,000 to 25,000 Venezuelans bought tickets with the airline, in pic59869434-1order to travel to Curacao, Aruba and Miami during the holiday season and the company failed to provide the service.

Leon Parilli indicated, in conjunction with Eliana Baez, attorney for those affected by the closure of the airline, that DAE suspended operations in Venezuela by order of the National Civil Aviation Institute (INAC) and left passengers unattended.  Authorities subpoenaed ticket reimbursement and payment of damages caused by the incident.
