Ambitious project UDC and Webster University

More international opportunities, possibilities and challenges for students

WILLEMSTAD - The University of the Dutch Caribbean (UDC) and the American Webster University have recently signed a cooperation agreement to offer bachelor and master programs in English.

Prof. JP of Marissing and Dr. J. Kaat of Webster University Leiden have signed this partnership with UDC. The U.S. training are destined for Curacao, former Antillean islands, the South American continent and the Caribbean region. An ambitious project of the UDC (accredited by the NVAO Netherlands) and one of the most international universities in the United States.

Webster University offers American global education. Webster University’s headquarters are in St. Louis, Missouri (since 1915). Webster University has campuses in the Netherlands (Leiden), Switzerland (Geneva), England (London), Austria (Vienna), Thailand and China (3 cities). The American University has 130,000 alumni worldwide in 130 countries. Webster University is ranked as one of the largest graduate business Schools in the U.S.

Next year will be UDC’s 20th anniversary and it has been providing bachelor’s programs on Curaçao for all these years. UDC is recognized by the Minister of Education of Curaçao and was inspected in May 2012. The quality of the Institute and the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) are in accordance with the standards of the Netherlands Flemish Accreditation Organization (NVAO).

UDC provides, in addition to the BBA program with eight specializations, also the bachelor's program in Law. For academic year 2013-2014 UDC begins, in collaboration with Webster University, with the bachelor program International Business & Management Studies (IBMS) in English.

The cooperation between Webster University and The University of the Dutch Caribbean (UDC) provides opportunities, possibilities and challenges. Both universities offer local, regional and international  undergraduate (bachelor) and graduate (masters) programs. These programs will start in September 2013. The recruitment and information sessions will all begin in January 2013.

Webster and UDC will offer, starting September 2013, Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, and the English Bachelor International Business & Management Studies (IBMS). The UDC will also offer some “Minor” programs in English. Students have full use of the international network of the American university.

Webster and UDC will expand the existing relationships with universities in Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil and the region, so students can start using this unique international cooperation.

The undergraduate (Bachelor) business programs from Webster University in Leiden Netherlands are accredited by the Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organization (NVAO) just like the UDC program.
