American Consul leaves for a post in Suriname

Belon and ObamaWILLEMSTAD –  The Consular Corps Curacao said goodbye to the American Consul General Valerie Belon, who will soon leave her post in Curaçao for the U.S. Embassy in Suriname. The Consular Corps thanked Belon yesterday during an informal lunch.

The Dean of the Corps Consular Curaçao, Helga Mensing, thanked Belon in a speech for her contribution in recent years: "Consuls know that they are there for some time, but you made the best of it during your stay here in Curacao." Mensing also praised Belon’s affection, commercial knowledge and efficient way of expressing.
