Americans do not need residence and work permit
WILLEMSTAD - American citizens are welcome to come and live and work in Curaçao. It is no longer necessary to apply for a residence permit anymore, neither a work permit.
This is according to the Minister of Justice, Nelson Navarro.
The measure stems from a lawsuit in St. Maarten. As Americans successfully appealed to a treaty between the US and the Netherlands in 1955. Americans who already live in Curaçao do not need to apply or renew their paperwork.
