Animal protection still has funds for a maximum of three months

VAP-ChulaWILLEMSTAD - The Animal Protection can only cover half of the costs with the subsidy from the government. That is according to the chairman of the foundation Gregory Berry.

On a monthly basis, the foundation for the Protection of Animals spends 15,000 guilders to cover all costs. The costs are constantly rising because the number of stray dogs continues to increase.

Animal protection works on an educational project to teach children how to deal with animals differently. They are also working on a large-scale sterilization project, but they hope to get separate financing for this.

Berry states that it is increasingly difficult to find sponsorship because there are many organizations that, according to him, all do a good job, but the number of sponsors does not necessarily grow. This week the Animal Protection sounded the alarm because the money is almost running out. Without a 'miracle' the organization has to stop in about 3 months.
