Beaches more accessible for elderly and disabled

Curacao BeachWILLEMSTAD – Curaçao will make its beaches more accessible for the elderly and disabled. This is according to the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB). It will include handrails on stairs where older people can hold on. The stairs at Playa Forti will be renewed.

Both at Playa Forti as in Santa Cruz and Kleine Knip there will be new sanitary facilities. Part of the project is also to rid some of the beaches of the rocks in the water. These rocks make it very unpleasant for the elderly and disabled to enjoy the beach.

Parliament still has to debate on the financing of these plans.
