Caribbean Medical University (CMU) welcomes 50 new students to Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD - They come from all over the world, although primarily from the USA and Canada, to start here a career in Medicine. During the Orientation meeting on Sept 11th, 2017, Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath was the keynote speaker at this event and he welcomed some 50+ new foreign students to Curaçao, wishing them a pleasant and fruitful stay on the island during their studies. Actual classes begin Sept 12th, 2017.

CMU offers 24 different courses to its students, divided into 3 trimesters of 14 weeks each for the pre-medical (PM) program, followed by 4 medical (MD) trimesters here in Curaçao, starting with basic biology, physics and chemistry through Pathology and Physical Diagnosis in the MD program. After completing the semesters in Curaçao, the students will take the licensing exam in the US and complete 6 clinical semesters in CMU-affiliated hospitals in the United States.
